Aquatic Rehab Films is a youtube video project that was started to get public feedback, editing free dive filming practice with an eventual shelf DVD in mind. I want the videos to consist of shark, free diving and spearfishing footage around New Zealand with an abstract outlook on the underwater world. The name came from the idea that I could provide video rehabilitation for divers suffering water withdrawals due to weather or other circumstances. My second goal besides a shelf DVD is to be able to try help change the typical public perspective on sharks. The media judges the animal by its appearance and spreads fear for front page material rather than spreading the truth about shark finning and how many divers have harmless encounters with sharks in our waters every summer. At the moment I am trying to get out as much as possible to film spearfishing so I can finish off my summer series of videos.
